Many Travellers Abducted By Gunmen In Border Community Between Ekiti And Ondo States (DETAILS)
Unidentified gunmen reportedly abducted an undisclosed number of travelers on the road between Ekiti and Ondo States, specifically between Ikere Ekiti and Iju locations.
The victims were in two vehicles – a Toyota Corolla and a white Highlander – and were marched into the bush after being intercepted.
A video of the incident showed the vehicles being riddled with bullets. As of now, it’s unclear if the kidnappers have contacted the victims’ family members for ransom.
Ondo State Amotekun and Nigerian police personnel are actively tracking the kidnappers. Efforts to reach the Ondo State Police Command for comments were unsuccessful.
This incident follows a recent attack on the team bus of Sunshine Star Football Club in December along the Ore-Benin Expressway.
