JUST IN : Nigeria Customs To Begin Another Round Of Distribution Of Seized Rice, Other Food Items
The Nigeria Customs Service, Oyo/Ogun Command, is set to resume the distribution of seized rice and other food items to citizens once the Federal Government finalizes the modalities for the exercise.
The decision to establish modalities arises from the need to prevent a recurrence of a tragic incident in Lagos, where armed hoodlums in camouflage attempted to force their way into the distribution venue, resulting in casualties.
Initiated by the Federal Government to alleviate the prevailing hardship, the distribution of seized food items by the NCS aims to provide affordable options amidst food shortages and rising prices.
The Area Controller, Oyo/Osun Command, Ben Oramalugo, emphasized the government’s directive to ensure fair and transparent distribution.
Eligible beneficiaries will undergo careful screening and verification to guarantee that the seized rice reaches those in need, contributing to the alleviation of hardship for many families.
