JUST IN: 12 Kidnapped Victims Rescued In Benue By Troops
Troops from Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) successfully rescued 12 kidnapped victims in Jootar village, Ukum LGA, Benue State.
The rescue operation, conducted on February 21, was based on credible intelligence. The victims were traveling from Imo to Adamawa State when they were abducted.
The kidnappers took advantage of an abandoned Federal Police Highway checkpoint. The kidnappers fled upon encountering OPWS troops, leaving their victims behind.
Additionally, the troops recovered an 18-seater bus belonging to Taraba Express International.
Maj Gen. Sunday Igbinomwanhia, the Force Commander of OPWS, emphasized their commitment to enhancing security in Benue, Nasarawa, and Taraba States.
OPWS aims to ensure the safety of law-abiding citizens in the region.
