“It Is Our Fault” – Van Dijk Apportions Blame For Liverpool’s Draw With Man Utd

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk shouldered the blame for his team’s failure to secure a victory against Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.

Despite dominating the match and creating numerous scoring opportunities, Liverpool only managed to take a 1-0 lead into halftime, courtesy of Luis Diaz’s acrobatic goal.

However, Manchester United staged a comeback with goals from Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo, leaving Liverpool trailing.

Although Mohamed Salah’s late penalty salvaged a point for Liverpool, van Dijk acknowledged that his team’s inability to convert their chances ultimately cost them the win at Old Trafford.

Speaking in an interview with BBC, Van Dijk said;

“It feels like a loss, it is our fault again.”

“We had so many chances and we should finish the game off.”

“Unfortunately the individual mistake that happened with the equaliser and we had so much time to put it right, but we were in a rush.”

“Still after being 2-1 down we created so much.”
