Afrobeats sensation, Joseph Akinfenwa, known popularly as Joeboy, has revealed what inspired his hit song ‘Better‘.

Speaking during a recent interview with media personality Vivz in the UK, the ‘Alcohol’ hitmaker revealed that he wrote the song to raise awareness about domestic violence against women.

Joeboy expressed his concern about the increase rate in domestic abuse in the African society, where a lot of women are often maltreated.

“‘Better’ is my favourite song ever. In that song, it’s like you’re speaking up for a woman that has been treated badly by another man.”

“It’s something that happens a lot in African society; domestic abuse. Sometimes women are maltreated and not treated properly. I wanted to shed light on domestic violence against women.”
