Ghanaian Rapper Sarkodie Denies Shading Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy
Renowned Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has denied claims throwing shades at Nigerian superstars, Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.
It would be recalled that Sarkodie’s most recent song, “Brag,” sparked controversy on social media as he highlighted his seniority in the music industry.
In the song, the rapper openly bragged about his musical achievements and signify his dominance in the African music scene, which sparked a diss track exchange between Dremo, a former Davido signee, and Lyrical Joe, a Sarkodie signee.
However, Sarkodie has in a recent interview with RODE said that he never jabbed his colleagues.
He said:
“Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido would never think I want to jab them because if I want to jab somebody, it has to be rappers. They are not rappers.
“I am just talking to rappers about how long I’ve been there and who else is best to use as reverence? Everybody knows Wizkid, Burna Boy, Black Sheriff, Asake and Davido. And I was indeed in the industry before they all came in. It’s just references to how long I’ve been there. It’s not throwing jabs at anybody. These are incredible, amazing artists.”
