GEEZ!!!! Man Arraigned For Allegedly Punching Wife To Coma
On Monday, the Police arraigned a 38-year-old man, Samuel Umeojili, before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly assaulting his wife.
The defendant, residing at No. 2, Idolofin Street, Ado-Ekiti, faced charges of assault and breach of peace.
According to the Prosecutor, Insp Olasunkanmi Bamikole, the defendant committed the offences on February 15 at around 9:00 am.
He allegedly beat his wife, Okechukwu Umeojili, to a coma, and conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by assaulting his wife.
The charges contravene Sections 185 and 181 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021. The prosecutor requested an adjournment to study the file and assemble witnesses.
The defendant pleaded not guilty, and the Chief Magistrate, Mr Saka Afunso, granted him bail in the sum of N25,000, with one surety in like sum. The case is adjourned till February 29 for hearing.
