EFCC Operatives Allegedly Arrest FUTA Students In Midnight Raid
In the early hours of the morning, individuals suspected to be operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) reportedly conducted a midnight operation at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State.
According to reports, students’ lodges were invaded around 2 am, with some students alleging that the men forcibly entered rooms and made arrests.
Videos circulating on social media show broken window frames, suggesting attempted forced entry.
One social media user, J Brandy, expressed concern over the timing of the operation, stating,
“I thought they said EFCC should not raid at nights again.”
The user also said that the incident occurred at Celebrity Lodge in FUTA and questioned when such occurrences would end.
Notably, one of the videos circulating online shows a person wearing an EFCC jacket, adding credibility to the reports.
It’s worth mentioning that EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, previously ordered the midnight operations would stop following public outcry over the arrest of suspected internet fraudsters in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
