Bill Cosby recently reacted to R. Kelly’s conviction in his sex trafficking and racketeering case. Cosby’s publicist Andrew Wyatt spoke to TMZ and said, “We talked about it today and the first thing he said, he was like, ‘Look, the guy was railroaded.’” Now, reports surfaced noting that Cosby will be back in court, as a trial date has been set for a civil lawsuit related to an alleged sexual assault incident in 1974 at the Playboy Mansion.
As of now, the trial is set to take place on April 18, 2022, and Cosby is reportedly ready to use his Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination, according to Andrew Wyatt.
The suit was filed by Judy Huth, who claimed that she met Cosby in 1974 after he invited her and a 16-year-old friend on to a film set. Cosby allegedly met with Huth days later and gave her alcohol before inviting her to a party she says was at the Playboy Mansion. Wyatt has issued a statement on behalf of Cosby, with Cosby “vehemently [proclaiming] his innocence and [denying] all allegations waged against him by Ms. Huth and Ms. Allred.” Stay tuned for more updates.
