Uncharted Should Be Continued, But Needs to Avoid One Common Trend
At the height of its popularity, the Uncharted franchise was undoubtedly one of Sony’s crown jewels. From the 2007 release of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune to 2016’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, the series created the blueprint for thrilling action-adventure games with some of the most elaborate and creative set pieces the genre had ever seen. Since protagonist Nathan Drake’s fourth outing though, aside from a fun, albeit short spin-off titled Uncharted: Lost Legacy, developer Naughty Dog did say it’s seemingly done with Uncharted. Many fans are still hoping for a new installment in the franchise, and if this does eventually happen, the series should avoid something many franchises have succumbed to over the years – a reboot.
