One Piece: Unanswered Questions About The Void Century

The concept of 100 years of history being completely erased from all records may seem absurd to most, but in the world of One Piece, this is a part of the world order that has become normalized. Over 800 years prior to the start of Luffy’s journey in One Piece, the World Government was formed during a cataclysmic war against a Great Kingdom which was said to be advanced and extremely powerful. In the years since, all record of this conflict, as well as the century preceding it, has been erased from the record, with this period now known as the Void Century.
